  • Honestly, I think it was a combination of both “Oh god, she’s touching me” and the fact that Starfire is known for her bone crushing hugs lol. I think he may have been expecting to be out of breath by the time she let go.

  • Thank you, but it’s not me who makes this blog so amazing, it’s you guys and your confessions that really make this blog what it is J But as for the matter on who Red X is supposed to be, I have a few theories on that.
The first is I think the most popular of the “who could Red X possible be” suspicions, that being Jason Todd. Now I personally do think that in the world of Dick Grayson, Jason Todd would be the right candidate, given their antagonistic relationship and his natural disregard for the law. But like many have pointed out the timeline would have never worked canologically. However, I do think if they went down that path they would have changed the back story enough for it to work.
From a characterization stand point X and Todd share some of the same mannerism, especially that same sly confidence that makes them both so likeable. However X does lack Jason’s psychotic nature and I can’t see him crossing some of the lines Jason has.
However, I do also believe that making Jason Todd Red X would just be too easy and predictable which brings me to what I would personally do—make Him Grant Wilson.
Now most people have no idea who Grant Wilson is. So to answer that questioned, he is the eldest son of Slade Wilson and Jericho’s full brother. (Yes blondie boy Jericho is Slade’s spawn lol.) Now most people have no idea who Grant is because the Titans defeated him within the first issues of the comic after he dawned a suit that resembled his father’s and took on the name Ravager. (A namesake that would be used by both his uncle and his younger half-sister who would become the most noted of the three “Ravagers.”)  Grant does have history with the Titans mostly tied to his short lived comic career. He swore Revenge on the Titans after his apartment was destroyed. He later allowed the H.I.V.E to perform experiments on him so that he could share the same abilities of his hero Deathstroke (unaware the assassin was indeed his own father).  This lead to the character’s enviable death. The powers he’d been given were unstable and eventually killed him while fighting the Titans. This event was the catalyst that set Slade out against the Titans and would lead to the events of the Judas Contract and even the rivalry between Nightwing and Deathstroke. Yes Grant may have only been in a handful comics, but his role was huge for the future of the Titans.
Now as to why I think this could work. Grant’s time was indeed short, but because of that it gives him freedom to be used and shaped into the character one needs him to be. He also has a strong connection to Slade that could be played out in several different ways (as we also have no idea what Slade plans were). So in that regard I think the best option for who Red X should be is Grant Wilson, though I’m sure it was highly unlikely, but it would have been awesome if it was.
There is one other theory that someone people like to favor, but it’s more of a philosophical one, and is that Red X wasn’t supposed to be anyone. Now I know you’re thinking “well how does that work?” Well, it goes something like this. Red X, in the show was little more than a skin mostly because his character was never fully developed, but I personally think that’s what makes him so popular. What little is known about him makes him so intriguing and because we don’t really know who he was we can see him as whoever we want. So in that regard maybe he just wasn’t meant to be anyone because for him ambiguity was his identity.
Personally, I’m kind of glad we never found out and I’m convinced we weren’t suppressed to. Red X is and will always be one of the great mysteries of our beloved childhood show and he is a memorable part of it, even with what little we know of him. But who knows, maybe we’ll get our season six and find out, or maybe he’ll just remain an enigma who only finds true identity in fanfictions?
But what do you guys think?

    Hiya friends!

I know many people are confused and irritated about all of the stuff on Tumblr today regarding “internet slowlanes” and net neutrality. What is it? Why do I have to look at that spinning circle of death?

Above is probably the best breakdown of the issue I’ve seen.

Take a second and watch. Take another second and contact your representatives. This shit is very real and very scary.

    Knowledge is power.

    The internet is power.

Don’t let them take your power away.
